Sequentia Corporation Advances Platform for Quality Patient Care
Sequentia Corporation Engages HIMSS Innovation Center to Secure ONC HIT 2014 Edition Modular EHR Certification for the Sequentia® Transition of Care Platform™
Cleveland, OH (October 8, 2014) – The transition of care process is increasingly critical and challenging for all involved – patients and their families working with hospital social workers for discharge, as well as post-acute care providers. The web-based Sequentia Transition of Care Platform, which delivers unprecedented service and support to all these groups, incorporated information, insight and support from HIMSS and the HIMSS Innovation Center to achieve certification for their Transition of Care module, as specified by the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC).
The ONC HIT 2014 Edition Modular EHR certification for the Sequentia® Transition of Care Platform™ Version 1.0 recognizes the platform as capable of supporting eligible providers and eligible hospitals with meeting Meaningful Use Stage 2 measures required to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). ICSA Labs, an ONC Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) certified the Sequentia platform in compliance with applicable criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).
“In a visit to the Innovation Center to learn more about the details of accomplishing certification, the HIMSS Innovation Center staff gave us further insights into platform interoperability and the sources to best accomplish it all,” said Sequentia CEO Gennaro Luce. “Having the HIMSS Innovation Center right here in Cleveland is incredibly valuable, since it offers the testing tools needed to achieve certification and the resources to stay ahead in the dynamic healthcare IT environment.”
“This certification success story shows how the interactive testing tools from one of our collaborators, ICSA Labs, and the ongoing knowledge available at the HIMSS Innovation Center, came together to help this organization meet its certification goal. It is a relevant example of why we created the Innovation Center,” said John Paganini, Senior Manager, Interoperability Initiatives, HIMSS North America.
